3 Pieces of Advice I’d Give to My Younger Self

Life is a unique journey filled with experiences that shape us into the people we are meant to be. As we get older, we gain a much better understanding of what’s best for our own mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing – but we likely made a lot of mistakes along the way. While we can’t go back in time to visit our younger selves, we can still reflect on those experiences and the life lessons we learned.

We asked our co-founders Stacie and Kristi to share the best advice they’d give to their younger selves if they had the chance. Here is what they had to say about self love, self care and self compassion.

Invest in your skincare now.

If you want to look and feel beautiful when you’re older, you need to pay attention to your skincare. While there’s nothing wrong with soaking up some sun from time to time, you should never leave the house without sunscreen on. Make sure you apply sunscreen to your face, neck and hands every day, even when it’s cloudy outside or you’re just sitting at your desk. Otherwise, those pesky sun spots will start popping up when you get older. Also, take care of your undereyes. You might not think you need to apply eye creams or treatments when you’re in your 20s, but trust me, your future self will thank you for it.

Take better care of your mind and body

Take better care of your mind and body.

The choices you make now will impact your mental and physical health in the future. You only have one body, so treat it with the love and care that it deserves. That means eating more whole foods, drinking more water and ditching the sugar as soon as you can (it can age you and damage your skin!). Another very important health factor, which is usually neglected, is your gums. The health of your gums is actually linked to your brain health and gut health, so make sure you find a holistic dentist who can assess your health habits and give you the proper care you need.

Stop seeking validation from others

Stop seeking validation from others.

This is one of the hardest lessons to learn, but it’s the most important one: stop seeking validation from other people. There is nothing more powerful than a woman who knows and loves herself. But when you look to others for validation, you give that power away. So don’t fall victim to your inner self critic. Show yourself the same love and respect that you would give to someone else. And remember that you are strong, capable and worthy of all the blessings that will come your way.

If there’s one thing that we’ve learned, it’s that self love is the key to life. And as a holistic CBD wellness brand, we want to help you show your mind and body the love it deserves. If you’re ready to prioritize your mental & physical wellbeing, let’s chat.
