CBD Oil vs CBD Capsules: Which Do I Take?

"How do I know which product to start with?”

This is one of the most common questions we get asked when it comes to deciding between CBD oil and CBD capsules. But is there a wrong answer?

Since hemp was legalized on the federal level back in 2018, numerous types of CBD have flooded the market. So the question to dive into today is: Is one form of CBD better than another? Will one make me healthier? Less anxious? Sleep better?

And because CBD oil and CBD capsules are two of our best sellers, we’re going to dive into their differences. Full transparency, no fluff - that’s the aim of today’s FAQ.

The Perks of CBD Oil

CBD Oil Drops come with a wide array of benefits, and we’ve narrowed it down to the top three...

1. Measure Out Your Dose

CBD Oil Drops allow YOU to measure out your own dose. Want 12mg? 27mg? 40mg? Well, since you’re in charge of how much CBD you consume, you can measure out each dose to perfection with our easy-read tinctures.

2. It Absorbs within Minutes

When you consume CBD Oil Drops, you’re able to feel the relief within mere minutes. This is especially crucial for those who experience anxiety, panic attacks, epilepsy, or trouble falling asleep.

Drop the CBD oil under your tongue, hold for 90 seconds, and voila - it’s in your bloodstream, making its way to your Endocannabinoid System (yes, that’s a very long word, and it’s also the system responsible for helping you feel the profound benefits of CBD), and getting ready to put your body back into balance.

Because CBD oil goes directly into the bloodstream through the capillaries under your tongue, the effects of CBD can be felt within 15 to 45 minutes.

3. Fresh Taste

Most CBD oils have an earthy, unpleasant taste (after all, CBD does come from a plant...). That’s why we’ve curated a line of CBD tinctures to calm your body and freshen your mouth. Our Broad-Spectrum CBD Oil Drops come in three refreshing flavors - Fresh Mint, Fresh Orange, and Fresh Lemon, while our Full-Spectrum CBD Drops come in Fresh Lime.

No need to worry, you will not have hemp breath after taking our CBD Oil Drops.

The Perks of CBD Capsules

1. No More Guessing

With CBD Capsules, you can say goodbye to measuring out a dose of CBD and wondering if it’s too much, not enough, or (maybe?) just right.

Each of our capsules contains 25mg of CBD. This makes it a no-brainer when it comes to taking your daily dose.

These are convenient because we like to view CBD like a multivitamin - something you should take daily, not just when you feel like it.

2. Lasts Longer in Your Body

Because of its slow-release into your system (because it has to pass through your digestive tract), CBD capsules can last anywhere from 4 to 6 hours, whereas CBD oil drops last only 2 to 4 hours.

This can be especially helpful if you’re wanting to get more, higher-quality sleep. Or you want to feel a steady stream of bliss and calm throughout your day. Or you’re just not an “oil” person.

Our Everyday CBD Oil Softgels are created with water-soluble nanoemulsion technology - which is the sciencey way of saying, “They’re better absorbed by your body.”

So much so that it boasts increased bioavailability up to 200% over other oil-based hemp products on the market.

3. Zero Taste

With softgels, you don’t need to worry about which flavor to choose. Our vegan and gluten-free Everyday CBD Softgels contain all the health benefits of CBD, without the taste.

To get lasting benefits, take CBD with food. The reason being is because CBD is metabolized and flushed out faster when taken on an empty stomach, whereas a full stomach slows the digestion of CBD.

Final Thoughts: So, Which Should I Start With?

We have recommendations for CBD beginners and CBD connoisseurs alike.

If you’re taking CBD for sleeplessness or anxiety - and are new to CBD - start out with the CBD Oil Drops. These tend to kick in faster and doses can be adjusted.

For drops, it’s important to find YOUR perfect dose. Everyone is different, so you’ll want to experiment with different doses over the course of a few weeks to a few months.

When starting, be sure to take CBD on a day where you have time to really pay attention to how your body feels. Take note of how many milligrams you consumed, and how you felt over the course of the following 2 to 4 hours.

Note: the effects will be subtle, not like a like switch.

When it comes to how much CBD oil you should start with, the recommended dose on the bottle is 1 full dropper. However, we suggest you try 1/4 to 1/2 dropper and wait 20 minutes to see if you feel a difference.

If not, take an additional 1/4 to 1/2 dropper and wait another 20 minutes.

Once you feel what you want to feel (i.e. less anxious, less pain, less brain chatter), add those doses up and that will be your starting “daytime dose” every time you take CBD.

If you’re also using CBD for sleep, take your “daytime dose” and increase it or even double it 15 to 20 minutes before lights out.

Tip: When taking CBD oil, be sure to hold it under your tongue for a full 90 seconds before swallowing. This will allow for better absorption into your bloodstream.

If you’re taking CBD for chronic pain - and have experience with CBD - we recommend our Everyday CBD Softgels. These are more absorbent and stay in your system longer.
